Rainbow trout,
snap tight on morning’s line.
Run with it.
You’re lit with mischief
lithe
defying ordinary motion
left
right
perfect perpendicular
unfolding
as a petal, slow
then
bursting lavender
glistening turns
flips
down and up and
upside down.
I’m dizzy as spring.
I’ll catch you after your bath tonight,
slippery girl,
hold you
curled at the hearth, where,
freckled cheek on my breast,
you’ll lean to light
flickering on your lashes, fall
asleep,
the hook in me too deep
to let you go.
